Growing up on the East Coast, Dr. Sara Karamloo endured many injuries to the lower extremities on her journey to becoming a ballerina. The ultimate injury not only forced her into early retirement, but turned her focus and passion for dance to the field of podiatry.

After graduating Magna Cum Laude in sociology and pre-medical studies from George Washington University in Washington, DC, she was subsequently accepted to Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. Here she received many scholarships for her academic achievements and was inducted into the Pi Delta National Podiatric Medical Honor Society.  Dr. Karamloo completed one year of surgical residency at Kennedy Memorial Hospital (University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey), prior to completing an additional three years at Yale University Hospital in New Haven, CT.

Throughout her residency, Dr. Karamloo worked closely with world-renowned physicians and received training in all aspects of the foot and ankle medicine and surgery.  Her training includes diabetic limb salvage, with an emphasis on Charcot reconstruction, plastic surgery techniques for wound coverage and reconstructive foot and ankle surgical techniques.  She prides herself on providing the latest evidenced based medical treatments for her patients. Dr. Karamloo is affiliated with Good Samaritan Hospital, El Camino Hospital Los Gatos and Washington Hospital in Fremont, California.

Dr. Karamloo is board certified and is an associate of The American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and a member of The American Board of Podiatric Medicine.  She has published throughout various medical journals and is a regular medical contributor to the Foot Vitals website.  Dr. Karamloo is eager to meet you and start you on the path of recovery and healing.
