Lydia Yun was raised in Orange County, California.  She grew up with an extensive dance training and spent many hours in the studio training in classical ballet and pointe, jazz, tap, theatre and Korean Folk Dance.  Her background in dance has contributed to her expertise in handling feet. Lydia received her bachelor’s degree in Biology at the University of the Pacific. She then received her medical degree at the California School of Podiatric Medicine in Oakland, California.

After graduation, Dr. Yun completed a three year surgical residency at St. Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco, California where she received comprehensive training in all aspects of the foot and ankle including forefoot and rearfoot reconstructive surgery, limb salvage, wound care, sports medicine, and traumatology.  During this time, she has taken courses in advanced foot and ankle internal fixation, foot and ankle arthroscopy, and fluoroscopy.   Dr. Yun has won numerous abstract competitions at foot and ankle conferences and is currently co-authoring research in foot and ankle scientific literature.  During her final year of residency, she served as chief resident while rotating at Highland Hospital and participated in a medical mission trip in Da Nang Vietnam with Dr. Weinraub of Kaiser Santa Clara.

Podiatrist Dr. Lydia Yun is available for consultation in Los Gatos Podiatry Group, Inc.  Her interests are in foot and ankle elective surgery, sports medicine, limb salvage and wound care.

When not working, she enjoys rock climbing, the great outdoors and travelling with her family.  She also stays active by going to the beach and hiking with her dog, a border collie husky mix.
